Tenth Annual MusicFest 'n Sugar Grove

MusicFest 'N Sugar Grove began 10 years ago as "Doc Watson Appreciation Day" to acknowledge the many contributions "Doc" has made to the people and communities in and around Watauga County.  MusicFest continues to appreciate his local contributions, but also the distinction Watson brings to our mountain musical heritage.

Musical Workshops:  Saturday, July 14, 12:00 to 12:45: Mandolin with Andy Owens; 1:00 to 1:45: Guitar, banjo, and bass with Jens and Uwe Kruger and Joel Landsburg; 2:00 to 2:45: songwriting with Jim Lauderdale and Shannon Whitworth.   

 

Songwriters' Showcase:  Saturday, July 14 to 3:00 to 6:00 pm: Hosted by Andy Owens with 1/800-Bluegrass.  Schedule will be posted inside school.
