Festival of Mountain Farm Heritage 

• Antique Car Parade at 10 AM; Grand Marshall:  Miss Jimmie Mast

• Color Guard Opening Ceremony at 10:30 AM

• Enter your pies and pickles in the judging contest

• Artifact Collection presented by Mr. Council Main

• Apple butter making

• Fun for kids:  face painting, pet rocks, petting zoo

• Fire Truck

• Beekeeping demonstration, seed exchange, renewable energy displays

• Live music  under the tent from 11 AM to 5 PM (cloggers at 3 PM)

• Food booths: hamburgers, hot dogs, barbeque,  funnel cakes,  ice cream

• Craft booths  featuring locally made crafts and demonstrations, e.g., folk toys, folk art, storybook dolls, sock animals, hand-knitted items, quilts, stained glass, dried flowers, beeswax candles, herbal soaps, woodcarvings, etc.

• Watch the weavers and the quilters make their special designs

• Veteran's Display

• Hit & Miss Engine with Grist Mill will grind your corn into meal

• Horseshoe pitching contest

• Silent auction featuring newtiques and antiques to benefit the Red Raider Room

• View the newly renovated Red Raider Room and the museum

• Free parking nearby

• At the gate tickets are $3 for adults, $1 for seniors over 60 & children, children 5 and under are free.

Country Fair on Saturday, September  20, 2008 at the Historic Cove Creek High School,  8 miles west of Boone in Sugar Grove, NC (see regional map )
